Although we refer to ourselves as 'I', we are usually not one. We are many.
'I' usually refers to whatever part is up on the surface at the time.
Each part or subpersonality has its own trance state - its
own perception of reality. We tend to be identified
with whichever part is up on the surface at the time. For example, if the
victim part that says 'nobody
cares about me' is up, it seems like reality. It will influence your behaviour
and, unconsciously, the 'uncaring' situation will be created again, reinforcing the
belief. Then you might say 'I knew it - nobody cares.'
When you experience and see these parts just as they are, you can relax into
your true nature.
Then situations look different, life looks different and new possibilities open up. You have
more choice and it becomes easier to respond rather than react. You
have more access to your gifts.
