Getting to 3/15 Fourth Avenue, Hove, East Sussex BN3 2PL

By Car
From London
You will be coming down the M23, then the A23.  There are 2 ways to come in:
1. The quicker, less attractive route. As you are approaching Brighton, take the A27 to Hove and Worthing.  Soon, at the roundabout, take the third exit A2038 to Hove (King George VI Avenue. This is a steep hill going down. It becomes 30mph and make sure you stick to it. Turn left into Nevill Road A2023, follow it (it goes right by the Co-op), it then turns into Sackville Road. Follow it down, turn right into Church Road. The seventh road on the right is Fourth Avenue. Park about two thirds of the way down in the middle of the road. 15 Fourth Avenue is on the left.
2. The slower and more scenic route. Go straight into Brighton on the A23, London Road, turns into Old Steine. You will see Brighton Pavilion on your right. At the end is Brighton Pier where you turn right along the seafront. Drive along for quite a way, past the burnt out pier on the left and the peace statue on the right. After enjoying the Georgian terraces on the right, you will notice that Hove Lawns and the beach huts on your left end. Immediately turn right into Fourth Avenue and park a little way up. 15 Fourth Avenue is on the right.

From Brighton  There are basically two parallel roads 1. Drive along the seafront 2. Western Road continues into Church Road Fourth Avenue runs between Hove Town Hall (on Church Road) and the seafront.

From Worthing
From the A27, take the Portslade/Hove turn off (A293). Drive down Hangleton Link Road, past the superstore on the left and then turn left on the A270 Old Shoreham Road. Follow it for a while until you turn right at a traffic light junction onto Sackville Road (A2023) - Kwik Fit is on the opposite left corner.  Turn left onto Church Road.  Fourth Avenue is the 7th turning on the right. You’ll see the sign to the NCP on the left and that’s where you turn right.  The building, a redbrick Edwardian villa, is about ¾ of the way down towards the sea on the left.
(Flat 3)

Parking
Street parking: there are meters in the centre of the road - £1 for 2 hours.  Parking is free from 8pm. There is also an NCP – at the top of Fourth Avenue, just into Norton Road on the left (3 minutes walk). If there are only residents places or if you need to park for longer than 2 hours, let me know.

By Train
On weekdays, it's probably cheaper to catch a train after 10.00am - so that would be an appointment at 11.30am or later. (You get 1/3 off the price with a network railcard.  Alternatively, you can ask about the pricebuster fare at the train station)  You need to come to Hove train station. From London, you can catch a train from Victoria or London Bridge. The journey usually takes just over an hour and it takes about 12 minutes to walk from Hove station.  (If you go to Brighton station for sightseeing, etc, the journey time from London is a bit less.) Please note that there is no bus from the station. Come out of the station and walk straight down Goldstone Villas. At the T-junction, you can go straight down George Street (pedestrian shopping street slightly to the right) and then turn left onto Church Road.  Fourth Avenue is a few streets along on the right.  The building, a redbrick Edwardian villa, is about ¾ of the way down towards the sea on the left.
